Holidays in Belek
An upmarket resort with high prices for accommodation and food. It is designed for a sophisticated clientele. Belek is popular with golf enthusiasts, as it is considered the center of this activity in Turkey.
There are good conditions for accommodation in hotels with modern interiors complemented by traditional Oriental motifs. Your holiday will be remembered for its water activities and clean beach areas, picturesque landscapes and excellent service in restaurants, pubs and shops.
Where it is located
The resort is part of Antalya Province. It is located 30 km from its capital (in a south-easterly direction), on the Mediterranean coast. In this young resort, the beauty of two-century-old eucalyptus, cedar and pine plantations is wonderfully combined with clean beaches and the ancient ruins of Aspendos, Perge and other cities of ancient Pamphylia.
When it’s best to go
Belek welcomes tourists all year round. Spa centers and golf clubs operate continuously, but this does not mean that in winter or early spring the weather is suitable for a beach holiday. The most favorable time for swimming begins in the second half of April and ends in the second ten days of October. According to climatic conditions, the best months for a holiday are June, September and October. The sea water is warm, but the air temperature is more comfortable than in July or August.
What to do
- A well-developed tourist infrastructure, the presence of ancient cultural monuments, the most beautiful eucalyptus forests, concentrations of turtles on the local beaches, and numerous entertainment centers for an active nightlife ensure that tourists of all ages never get bored.
- Fans of water activities will not be disappointed – there are excellent conditions for windsurfing, water skiing, riding bananas, pedal boats, yachts and other watercraft. Diving enthusiasts use the services of centers that offer equipment rental and individual training sessions with experienced instructors.
- Belek is excellent for rafting, especially if the tourist does not have much experience in this sport. Along the 12 km stretch of the Köprüçay River, they encounter obstacles of varying difficulty. Even if the hotel does not organize such trips, more than 10 local travel agencies will offer them to the tourist.
- Almost every hotel in Belek is a 4 or 5* complex with infrastructure for horseback riding, golf and standard sports activities. For children there are playgrounds, water slides and clubs. Parents can always take advantage of the water parks located on the grounds of other hotels.
