Holidays in Rimini

Italy is rightly considered one of the main tourist centers of Europe and the world. Its value lies not only in its stunning cultural and historical heritage, gastronomic diversity and beautiful natural landscapes: in addition, Italy offers excellent beach resorts, among which a special place is occupied by Rimini, located on the Adriatic Sea.

What you need to know about Rimini

Rimini is one of the largest resorts on the Adriatic coast and the most popular seaside resort in mainland Italy. It is very popular both with locals, who prefer to holiday in Rimini at the end of summer, and with tourists from all over the world. The resort has 15 kilometers of excellent beaches, most of which are suitable for holidays with children, numerous bars, restaurants and clubs, as well as shopping centers and all kinds of outlets, which will delight shopping enthusiasts.

The city is no less interesting in terms of cultural and historical sights, including famous squares, amphitheaters, theme parks and picturesque bridges.

Where Rimini is located

The city of Rimini, the administrative center of the province of the same name, is located in the north-eastern part of Italy. It lies on the Adriatic coast, between the Marecchia and Ausa rivers. Only a few kilometers separate it from Mount Titano and the city-state of San Marino. You can get to Rimini by train from most major Italian cities, as well as by plane: Federico Fellini International Airport in Rimini (RMI) serves both domestic and international flights.

When it’s best to go to Rimini

The best season for a beach holiday in Rimini is early summer, when the water is already warm enough, but the beaches are not yet crowded with Italian and foreign holidaymakers. The peak season falls on August and the first days of September.

As for the period most favorable for long walks and excursions, it is spring, when everything is in bloom and fragrant, and autumn, when you can still relax in beach bars while sipping aromatic coffee.

Where to eat well in Rimini

Rimini, like the vast majority of Italian cities, has many establishments where they serve some of the tastiest food in all of Europe :) Walking around Rimini, pay attention to several main types of venues:

  • Restaurants and cafés in the historic center, in particular in San Giuliano or on Piazza Cavour. They, in turn, are divided into two types: those that serve international cuisine or the most popular Italian dishes, and those that specialize in seafood.
  • All kinds of small bars on the Lungomare seafront.
  • Buffet-type venues in hypermarkets and shopping centers, which are notable for their wide selection and reasonable prices.
  • And don’t forget to try snacks and all kinds of seafood from the vendors at the local fish markets.

What to combine a trip to Rimini with

Rimini has many advantages over other beach resorts, and one of them is its proximity to many major tourist centers that can be reached in just a few hours. Among them:

  • Venice with its hundreds of stunning bridges and canals.
  • Milan, the world fashion capital and one of the main cities of Northern Italy.
  • Rome, the majestic Italian capital with centuries of history and a rich cultural heritage.
